Post-harvest storage of Juliet® Bio apples
Juliet® apples, like most apples, can be stored for a long time after harvesting. Harvesting plays an important role in their preservation. Apples should be picked neither too early nor too late. To do this, a number of indicators can help, such as background color, starch regression or pips. Then, to allow them to breathe properly, they are stored in a well-ventilated cold room. It's also important to control humidity, so regular monitoring is essential.
How to store Juliet® Bio apples after purchase ?
You need to take precautions when storing Juliet® Organic apples, as they oxidize quickly after just one shock. We advise you to handle them with care, and avoid spilling them suddenly into your crisper.
For optimum preservation, it's best to place them in breathable packaging. As a rule, apples release ethylene. This gas allows the fruit to ripen, but reduces its shelf life if there is no air circulation.
Tip: if you want to ripen your avocados or pears, place your Juliet® apples in the middle.
