Everything you need to know about making cider
Welcome to our space dedicated to the curious and passionate about organic cider! Find out everything there is to know about our unique cider-making process below.
What makes Juliet® apple cider unique?
Our cider is made from 100% organic Juliet apples, grown with respect for the environment and without any chemical treatment. This gives our cider its authentic flavour and distinctive character.
How do we select our apples to make cider?
Each apple is selected for its quality and optimum ripeness. We favour a respectful and sustainable approach, guaranteeing incomparable taste and irreproachable quality of our cider.
How is our cider made?
Harvesting and selection: Particular attention is paid to hand-picking the apples, chosen for their ripeness and quality. This stage guarantees the aromatic richness of the cider.
Pressing: The selected apples are carefully pressed to extract the juice, capturing the pure essence and natural flavours of the fruit.
Fermentation: The apple juice undergoes natural fermentation, where yeast transforms the sugars into alcohol, creating the alcoholic base of the cider.
Ageing: The cider is then left to mature in barrels, a crucial stage for enriching its bouquet and making its aromas more complex.
Bottling: Once mature, the cider is bottled, ready to be enjoyed. This final stage preserves the quality and authenticity of the product.
Each of these cider-making stages is essential to producing a top-quality beverage that reflects Pomme Juliet's commitment to excellence and tradition.
How do we ensure the quality of our cider?
We control every stage of production to guarantee the highest quality organic cider. Our commitment to sustainable development and our passion for craftsmanship are reflected in every bottle.
Why choose organic cider?
Opting for organic cider means choosing a healthy product that respects the environment and supports sustainable farming practices. It's also the assurance of an authentic taste and a unique experience.
Where can you find our ciders?
Our Juliet® ciders are available throughout France, in specialist organic shops, markets and supermarkets.
What role does fermentation play in the making of Pomme Juliet® cider?
In our cider-making process, fermentation is crucial: it transforms the apples' natural sugars into alcohol, giving the cider its richness and depth. Juliet® 4.50% organic brut cider undergoes a longer fermentation period in vats than the demi-sec, giving it a less sweet, subtly more distinctive character.
How does ageing influence the taste of our cider?
Barrel ageing allows the cider to develop a unique range of aromas. This maturation process contributes to the balance between sweetness, acidity and bitterness, enriching the character of our cider.
Why is it important to select quality apples for making cider?
The quality of the apples is fundamental to making exceptional cider. Healthy, ripe, organic fruit guarantees not only the authentic flavour of the cider but also its purity, reflecting the very essence of Pomme Juliet®.
How does the biodiversity of our orchards enrich the taste of our cider?
The biodiversity of our orchards plays a key role in the complexity of our ciders. It contributes to a balanced ecosystem, which is essential for growing healthy, full-flavoured apples, directly influencing the quality of our cider.
How important are organic certifications in our cider-making process?
Organic certification is proof of our commitment to sustainable, environmentally-friendly farming practices. They guarantee that our cider is produced without chemical pesticides, preserving the purity and authenticity of our apples' flavours.
